The French Room

  The look of classical elegance basks in a sunny glow of yellows & bronzes in the French

  Room.  The room features F. Schumacher wallpapers and fabrics, and the ceiling is papered

  for an intimate ambiance.  Accenting the entire room is a gorgeous crystal chandelier, which

  enhances the stunning French antique furniture. Relax and step back in time into an original

  Victorian-era freestanding claw foot bathtub/shower to bring quiet closure to your day in the

  French Bathroom. The impact of the original tile floor and visual depth of the space is enhanced

  by the addition of the wall coverings. Take a bubble bath break! Don't you deserve it?

The European Room

  The billowy topped floral chintz draperies lend richness and luxury to this large, cozy

  sun-bathed bedroom. The furnishings in the European Room consist of cherished pieces

  displayed in a comfortable manner that is elegant yet practical. The bed and matching

  upholstered ottoman offer relaxation from the hustle and bustle of your day-to-day life.

   

• This room can also be in suite form if we connect it to the Tower Room (not specifically listed on this site).  The Tower Room is generally a common area in the upstairs of the Victoria House.  We can, however, close it to the general public and open it only to the European Room, making it a suite.  In Suite form, the European will have the main room's King sized bed, along with the Tower Room's Futon (which we will gladly fold out and dress), a couch, a private balcony, and more.  

The Gothic Suite

A cathedral inspired bedroom sets the tone of a long forgotten era.  Luxurious linens embellish

this bed chamber.  Sage greens, coppers and time worn finishes grace the room

with a rich patina. The Gothic Suite offers the privacy and comfort you deserve. A separate

day room adjoins, and is perfect for reading, visiting or to accommodate an additional guest.

The Far East Room

  Nestled in the back of the Victoria House, with lovely south-facing doors leading to a

  balcony retreat, the Far East room provides an airy ambiance by day. Salmon-colored

  walls with a special painted finish add drama and depth by night. The antique Oriental

  screen adorning the wall is a sight to behold as you enter the room and yield to the unique

  flair of the Far East. The detailed Far East bathroom integrates the rough texture of the

  exposed brick wall with the new polished marble shower and floors which compliment the

  bedroom. Detail makes this space warm and inviting for the sophisticated guest looking for

  something extraordinary and unique.  

The Library

  This warm and inviting downstairs suite hosts an antique fireplace reflecting the

  curious mind. The use of dark color values, unusual metallic treatments and luxurious,

  comfortable furnishings enhance existing architecture and insures the guest of a

Venetian Room

  Enjoy our glimpse of Italy!  The Venetian Room is complete with airy clouds on the ceiling and gold patina throughout. A wonderful antique rug adorns the floor, offsetting sheers

  of black and gold. Surround yourself in old-world charm while soaking in your private

  Jacuzzi.

Safari Room

As the name suggests, the Safari Room is its own little jungle room.  Boasting a mosquito

net canopy bed, this room is walled with faux leather and includes its own private covered

balcony.  The richness of colors and textures will take you on your own private journey to

Africa - without even having to leave the comfort and privacy your own room! Don't miss

the bathroom, which hosts an antique dresser converted into a sink, animal print wallpaper,

and exotic furnishings!

Oxford Room

The homelike Oxford Room comes complete with its own private hallway leading to a 

bath separate from the water closet.  This richly colored red room is adorned in a

Ralph Lauren/Laura Ashley motif and brings the country to mind. With a private covered

balcony, hardwood floors, iron post bed, the Oxford Room is adorned with Grandma's

favorite quilts as window coverings.  This comfortable, bright, Americana style room will

send you home with a warm and cuddly feeling all over.

Extended Stays
(for guests staying 1 month and beyond)

Depending on availability, the Cottage House, the Tree House and the Texas Hideaway

can accommodate stays of one night or as many as you need!  Monthly/weekly rates are also available.

Washer & dryer are available for use by extended stay guests.

(All apartments have galley kitchens which include: refrigerator, microwave, stove or range, toaster oven, coffeemaker,

and all the conveniences of home!)

The Cottage House

  Separate from the main house but just a cobblestone walk away, the Cottage House has all the amenities of home, including:  rust-colored tile floor covered by a Zapotec Native American hand-woven rug, a large screen TV/VCR, roll top oak desk, willow headboard, and a large pine antique wardrobe. If it's true privacy you're looking for, drive right up to your front door

  and walk into that charming warm ambience...Texas style!

Tree House                                            

• Type of accommodation:  Apartment

• Location: back of Inn, 2nd floor

  Up high and private with its own entrance, the Tree House enjoys an airy feel that brings back those tree-climbing days of childhood!  Located on the second floor of its own private building, the myriad windows overlook trees all around.  The whitewashed wood ceiling beams make you  feel you're in an actual tree house suite!  The apartment includes such conveniences as a large side-by-side refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and private balcony overlooking the grounds. The Bombay and Treehouse serve as two seperate suites with an adjoining door, which can be

  opened up to provide for a larger two bedroom suite.
   

   

   

  The Bombay

• Location: Seperate Building, 2nd floor

                 The Bombay Room (click Tree House photo on right to view) is adjacent
                 to the Tree House Suite. Both are accessible to each  other  through a simple
                 door that can either stay closed or be opened to share as an entire 1000-sq. ft.,
                 comfortable mini-apartment. The Bombay Room (located in back of Inn, 2nd
                 floor) is decorated in a light & airy feel of palms and elephants. With it's own
                 private entrance from a second story observation deck, this newest addition had
                 plenty of closet space and a great view of the Inn's cobblestone courtyard.
                The Bombay and Treehouse serve as two seperate suites with an adjoining door,
                which can be opened up to provide for a larger two bedroom suite.

The Texas Hideaway

• Location: 3rd floor
• The rate for this accommodation is $75 to $225*   

   

  Renovation of this room, the Texas Hideaway, was completed in early March, 2004!  The room boasts a sitting area, a dining area, a kitchen, a private bath and a sleeping area and private AC/heating unit. The room has all the rustic feel of the Classic Old West, but has all the comforts you would expect of an upscale bed & breakfast.  Located atop a spiral staircase above the second floor of the Burton House.

*Room Rate Explanation*

*  Wondering why there's such a large range in prices?  The lower of the rates is for a longer term stay (three days to a month or more), and typically during a slow weekend.  The higher end of the rates is on a busy weekend in a busier season.  During high seasons, rates may increase, but will stay competitive with other Austin area room rates.  If you choose to stay here, but express no preference on which room we place you in, you will get that weekend's lowest rate! Rates and availability can change on a daily basis so it is important to be sure you talk to a live person when making reservations.
